Make 2019 the year to be seen!
So, you need a new photo or a series of photos for your website/business/author page/social media profile.
You have the power to decide how you will show yourself to your clients, your partners, even the world at large.
Picture yourself the way you want to be seen. What’s the message you are giving people with your image? The possibilities are limitless!
“Ok, Renee,” you may be saying, “but how do I know what kind of pictures I need?” I get it. I didn’t know either. This was all new to me as well when I was getting ready to design my site and have my picture taken.
I’m here to guide you through this process…
I did extensive research and worked with some top designers. I discovered there is a secret world out there involving image placement, typography, funnel shots, and yes, even your fabulous headshot or profile pic will have a different vibe depending on myriad factors.
In order to decide what you need, it helps to understand what’s possible. Then you can clarify what you want.
Let’s start with the basics, at a minimum you need at least ONE fabulous headshot or profile picture; one where your eyes are connected with the viewer. I call this shot “speaking to the camera.” We want to “feel” you and your energy.
Additionally, there is the full body profile picture, a long banner image and so on...(see the list below along with a sample of images).
Think of this as your “bespoke” picture package. You can really make this what you want, these are just suggestions for your site. You get to pick and choose...
THE ESSENTIAL MARKETING SHOTLIST
The list below is comprised of the types of essential marketing shots people typically have as part of their business: (See example photos at top of this article…)
1. Headshot, Profile Picture
2. Upper Full-Body Portrait
3. Long Header Banner (for websites & articles)
4. The Funnel
5. Your Story / Workspace / Home
6. What it feels like to work with you
7. “This is me” casual / Fun / Instagram
8. Show Your Personality / Creative / Artistic side
You can have a site with just one photo if you choose. I personally feel it’s nice to see a bit more of you and what you do, in your element. Let’s face it, this is the age of Instagram and FB and people want to know as much as they can about you! Think of your image as your personal calling card.
Once you know what types of images/shots are available to you, and you’ve figured out what you need for your business or site, you can focus on the message you are giving out.
It’s my job to bring you out of hiding. What magic, what unique gifts do you and your company possess? I would love to help you figure out how you want to be perceived.
Let your soul take flight!
